Graduation ceremony
associated with the award ceremony - June 2026
On Sunday, June 28, 2026 , an extremely solemn and anticipated ceremony of handing over documents on the completion of studies to graduates of the Educational Institute Košice and its detached workplaces in Bratislava and Rimavská Sobota in postgraduate study programs, associated with the awarding of various awards for professional effort, perseverance and professional growth, took place in the premises of the DKC Veritas hall in Košice.
The atmosphere of the event was completed by the elegance of the ladies present, the dignity of the gentlemen and the exceptional energy that accompanied all the graduates, their families and distinguished guests throughout the ceremony.
The ceremonial program was opened by Dr.h.c. PhDr. Marcel Orenič, PhD., DBA, LL.D., DSc., Director of the Institute, who in his speech emphasized the importance of further education and the courage with which the graduates managed this study in addition to work, family obligations and everyday challenges. At the same time, he recalled the mission of the Institute, which strives to constantly improve and implement the highest social and academic values, as evidenced by the opening of several detached workplaces in Slovakia. However, the strategy of development and mission of the Institute is not only to expand its activities. He also mentioned that at the birth of the Institute, they knew that we wanted to be different – exceptional. We knew what we wanted to give to students, but we did not know what the students themselves would give us.
During the ceremony, the Director of the Institute also awarded the selected graduates with an award for an excellent final thesis, namely:
- Ing. Daniela Makranská, who prepared a postgraduate thesis in the Master of Business Administration study program on the topic “Increasing the efficiency of the production process with a focus on custom logistics”;
Veronika Židek, who prepared a postgraduate final thesis in the Master of Laws study program on the topic: “Cancellation of debt relief for dishonest intent”;
Mgr. Vojtěch Dvořák, who prepared a postgraduate final thesis in the Master of Science study program on the topic “Socio-psychological aspects of loneliness in adolescence”;
Bc. Mgr. Ivana Chytilová, who prepared a postgraduate final thesis in the Doctor of Science study program on the topic “Disinformation and trust in it as a determinant of children’s psychological experience”.
On behalf of the graduates , Mr. Ing. Milan Čonka, MBA, MPH gave a speech where he expressed his sincere gratitude for the graduation day, which symbolizes the completion of their joint educational journey. Although the students come from different backgrounds and professions, they were united by a strong desire to develop and invest in their own future. However, the decision to study in addition to work and family responsibilities required sacrificing free time. Today, however, they are proud to say that their efforts were clearly worth it. The institute passed on to them not only valuable professional knowledge, but also new inspiring contacts and a broader outlook. A big thank you went to the management, teachers and employees for their dedicated approach and motivation in a modern educational environment. The same thanks went to the families and colleagues who patiently supported the students in moments full of duties. After all, the real value of the completed documents will not lie in the degree itself, but in the real application of the knowledge in their further professional practice.
During the graduation ceremony, the Director of the Institute awarded important awards to distinguished personalities as a sign of special recognition for their merits in various categories:
- he awarded a Letter of Gratitude to the Research, Innovation and Technology Center in Košice – for long-term cooperation, professional and expert approach in educating students and spreading the good name of the Educational Institute Košice. The director doc. Ing. Dana Baricová, PhD., MBA; The
Director of the Institute also awarded the Director Award doc. PhDr. Daniela Bachyncová Giertliová, PhD. – for long-term cooperation, professionalism, improvement and dissemination of the good name of the Educational Institute Košice.
The ceremony was a dignified reminder of how important education is in personal and professional life. Graduates take away from the Institute not only theoretical knowledge, but also new practical skills, a broader outlook, new contacts and, above all, new impulses to be leaders in their professions or to be bearers of positive changes in their surroundings.
In his speech, the Director of the Institute expressed his sincere gratitude not only to the graduates, but also to the teachers, trainers, professional partners and the entire background of the Institute, without whom the educational process would not be possible. He also highlighted the support of the families, friends and colleagues of the graduates, who were an important support throughout their studies.
The
event ended with the sound of singing “Gaudeamus Igitur” and congratulations to all new graduates wishing them a lot of success, good health, courage for new challenges and also the joy of everyday exploration. To further use the acquired knowledge in their professions, contribute to the development of society and continue to spread the good name of the Educational Institute Košice. It is not for nothing that our motto is “education for success”!
